ROLE PURPOSE

Project & Client Change Managers at Impax oversee the full project lifecycle for a wide range of global projects of strategic importance. The role provides co-ordination and leadership, across multiple functional areas, to implement change to a high standard. Projects cover new client onboardings, changes to existing clients and strategic projects. 

 

You are expected to be:

  • Agile, organized and able to simultaneously manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines, with strong time management skills and client oriented thinking
  • Collaborative in person and virtually with your immediate team, and Impax subject matter experts across multiple business functions and seniority levels up to the executive level
  • Leading and/or supporting projects globally, involving clients and co-workers in multiple geographies
  • Hands-on and proactive, and able to deliver projects with decreasing supervision over time
  • Solutions driven and offering new perspectives – remaining aware of the challenges Impax faces as a growing firm and share ideas
  • Challenging the status quo through thought leadership on process evolution and industry recognized approaches to project management that Impax can leverage
  • Able to familiarize with new systems quickly where required

  • Hybrid working (3 days minimum in office per week)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a Project/Change Portfolio: Often with multiple demanding, conflicting internal and external deadlines. Prioritise accordingly. 
  • Project Planning and Kick-off: Develop project plans based on project objectives and deadlines, taking into account team capacity and dependencies. Work with key project stakeholders to refine the project plan as required. Kick-off projects and ensure clarity and buy-in on the project plan and timelines from all stakeholders  
  • Project Management and Co-ordination: Oversee delivery of projects, including working with teams to identify and resolve issues as they arise, and maintaining a risk log. Provide verbal and written status updates as required. 
  • Project Closure: Ensure project objectives are delivered and co-ordinate feedback from involved teams. Capture lessons learned to leverage in future projects. 
  • Project Management Processes and Systems: Lead by example  and maintain a culture of following defined processes and procedures, whilst contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of Impax’s approach to project management (using project takeaways and lessons learned). 
  • Maintain a core understanding of Impax functions: Understand their inputs to varying change and project types (including Legal, Compliance, Reporting, Technology, Portfolio Managers, and Investment Team). 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

Essential: 

  • 3+ years’ experience at an asset manager, or working with asset management clients, in a project management role 
  • An understanding of different vehicle types (UCITS, CITs, Mutual Funds, ETFs, Pooled Funds, SMAs and Model Delivery) and different listed asset classes 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams & SharePoint) 
  • Clear understanding of the trade lifecycle for equity and fixed income assets, and broader business functional inputs required to support the running of an equity or fixed income portfolio. 

Desirable: 

  • An industry-recognised project management qualification (Prince2, CAPM, PMP, Six Sigma) 
  • New fund onboarding experience (Institutional Investors – Discretionary and Advisory) 
  • Project management and data visualization tools experience (MS Project, MS Planner, MS Visio, , JIRA, Tableau)
