ROLE PURPOSE

To contribute to the ongoing development of Impax’s relationships with UK-based institutional investment consultants. This is a client facing sales support role which includes dealing with consultants and their associated asset owner clients as part of supporting the UK institutional client group.

 

ROLE DIMENSIONS

Geographic scope: UK. Collaboration with consultant relations colleagues through the Global Consultant Relations Group as well as the wider Client Group colleagues.

Target clients: Investment consultants in the UK together with their asset owner clients. This is a client-facing sales and relationship role requiring structured business development and relationship management.

Team: UK team which sits within the Europe and Asia Client Group based in Dublin, London and Tokyo.

Reporting lines: This role reports into the Managing Director, UK & Consultant Relations based in the UK.

Knowledge: Build a solid working product knowledge of Impax Investment Strategies and UCITS Funds to be able to deal with clients directly, responding to all internal and external client enquiries, ensuring a high level of client service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supporting the UK consultant business through building working relationships with consultants. This includes:
    • Organizing meetings and roadshows for the MD and Relationship Manager
    • Keeping the consultants up to date on standard/factual material as well as supporting manager reviews.
  1. Supporting new business through business development. This includes tailoring pitchbooks, RFPs and DDQ to help land or retain business.
  1. Expanding the number of field consultant contacts in the UK through research, event lists and cold calling. This will also involve improving the effectiveness of data held in SalesForce (CRM system).
  1. Working with the UK and Dublin based client service team to ensure consultants and their clients receive their expected level of support and there is regular dialogue on business development on all sides.

 

 

KEY DELIVERABLES

  1. Supporting the growth of AUM from consultant-related business based in the UK and help to retain existing assets.
  2. Developing into a consultant relationship contact who consultants and their clients can rely on for timely and accurate information.
  3. Introducing new client-facing consultant contacts to Impax which are aligned with our strategic priorities to achieve positive ratings/recommendations.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE

Essential:

Educated to degree level or equivalent with a relevant FCA recognized qualification (IMC or equivalent).

Previous client facing investor relations or consultant relations experience…or has worked at an investment consultant.

A passion for sustainability/responsible investment or ESG with some knowledge in the space.

Highly organized, pro-active and coordinated; can demonstrate driving projects forward to help drive improvements to the client experience and support sales.

Strong understanding of equity and fixed income investing and being able to explain a portfolio characteristics.

 

 

Desirable:

Experience of manager research and/or client pitches to trustees.

Knowledge of fixed income or infrastructure/real assets.

Studying towards a CFA or CAIA qualification.
